Jamm Studios 2021 — Q3 Newsletter
Welcome back to our newsletter where we like to shout about all things Jamm.
Athena’s 1st Birthday
God bless our drum tutor and his family, his little one Athena turned 1 years old already! It’s amazing how quickly she has grown, and you bet she has been hitting things with sticks since she was strong enough to hold them.
I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing them all the best for the future!
Jamm Room Policy Update
Thank you for your patience, since our return from lockdown we instituted a booking system on our rehearsal facilities which made it impossible for one of the most important aspects of Jamm Studios, the ability to JAMM. So we are pleased to announce that this will gradually be made possible!
- The existing booking system will remain, and those that want to use the facility for private practice will still be able to do so subject to availability, as normal.
- Each available room will be allocated a capacity and you can invite any other students to join you in the practice room up to the room’s safe capacity.
- Jamm PRO members can invite 1 guest who is not a student of Jamm Studios (please ask the Studio Manager about requirements to admit a guest).
Our students safety is our utmost priority and all current precautionary measures must continue to be observed. This Jamm Room policy will be in effect from the 1st of November.
Qatar episode 7 is out!
A Jamm-packed episode this time round, with students showing their progress at all levels of their study.
We have on drums — Joseph Diotte, and Xander Taylor; on guitar we have Maya and Mohamed Abdul Hakim, and Zaid.
If you’re a student with us and you want to take part in our Student Jamms series just speak with your tutor to get involved.
In addition to the policy update above and in line with the phased lifting of restrictions we will gradually begin to open up availability of the rehearsal spaces.
It’s no surprise that jamming is really important to us.
We’re announcing some open jamm sessions in the rehearsal facilities. Starting this month there are some allocated times at the studio for anyone* who wants to come and meet other musicians and play together. As we look for safe ways for our students to play music together we want to provide multiple opportunities to do so. Attendance during these hours will not count towards your subscription allowance.
Fridays between 3:30pm and 5:30pm (Teens)
Saturdays between 4:30pm and 6:30pm (Adults)
This change is intended to be temporary and we’ll be closely monitoring all the above policy changes — we would appreciate any feedback from our Jammsters. It would be really useful to tell us if you’re interested too, and we can assist putting students in touch.
*Anyone means any actively subscribed student, you must present a green etheraz and undertake a temperature test as is normal procedure at the studios.
See you soon!
